Mitchell Rice has a passion for helping people who have been ignored by the legal system. “I feel like I’m making the most difference when I turn a previously denied case into a success story for an injured client,” says Mitch. Even though Mitch has experienced a tremendous amount of recognition during his professional career, that’s not what drives him to succeed. For Mitch Rice, it’s all about righting a wrong and finding justice for those who can’t help themselves.
If You Have Been Ignored by the Legal System, Mitch Rice is the Attorney You Want
Before law school, Mitch worked as an insurance adjuster in personal injury claims. He saw firsthand how insurance companies valued saving money over helping people in need. Mitch decided to enter law school after being encouraged by his WSU professor Fred Benson, who also happened to be a retired judge. Mitch graduated from the Washburn University School of Law after receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2002. He soon began handling a wide variety of cases, following his passion for defending the rights of the injured. Thanks to his previous work experience, Mitch knows exactly how insurance companies operate and how to counteract their tactics. Nearly a decade into his career as an attorney, Mitch met Scott Mann and joined Mann, Wyatt & Tanksley. Both men are Hutchinson natives and share a unified vision of how to practice law. “If someone needs help, we help,” says Mitch. “It isn’t about the money.”
Cases concerning children are what stand out the most to Mitch. One such case involved a 2-year-old girl who was injured after falling from a horse. Several other law firms inexplicably denied her case before their family turned to Mitch. He transformed the denial into a success story that has ultimately resulted in a long-lasting relationship between Mitch and their family. Mitch treats every client with the humanity and respect they deserve. It’s important for him to keep clients updated throughout the entire legal process. This is why each of Mitch’s clients have his personal cell phone number, always keeping the lines of communication open.
